Royal Jelly is secreted by the hypo pharyngeal glands found in the head of worker bees. Nurse bees that are 5-15 days old produce the most. Royal Jelly is a white creamy substance with a unique smell and bitter taste. Royal Jelly is fed to all young larvae, but is found in much larger quantities in the queen cells. Royal Jelly is the main diet for an adult queen. By boosting and supporting metabolic function the queen obtains increased energy and rapid recovery from fatigue (laying up to 2000 eggs per day can be tiring). |
